PVC waterproof membrane is a polymer material mainly composed of polyvinyl chloride resin, added with plasticizers and modified materials, processed through main technological processes such as calendering and extrusion.
TPO waterproof membrane is a sheet-like rollable waterproof material which uses thermoplastic polyolefin material, a combination of ethylene-propylene (EP) rubber and polypropylene through advanced polymerization technology, as the base material, reinforced with polyester fiber mesh fabric as the carcass reinforcement material, and manufactured by advanced processing technology.
It contains chlorine in its composition; during hot air welding, certain harmful gases will be generated, making it unsuitable for construction in relatively closed underground spaces.
It does not contain oxidized polymers or chlorine, no chlorine is released during welding and use, and it is harmless to the environment and human body.
Construction cannot be carried out below 5℃; when constructed at low temperatures, there are many wrinkles on the roof, and it hardens and is easy to break at low temperatures.
Construction can still be carried out in winter in northern China.
Cannot be in contact with asphalt materials; otherwise, the material will accelerate aging, shorten service life and lead to inability to weld; cannot be in contact with XPS, requiring a non-woven isolation layer.
Can be in direct contact with asphalt without an isolation layer, has good chemical resistance, and can be in direct contact with XPS without an isolation layer.
Due to plasticizer migration, the material becomes brittle and hard; if the roof membrane is damaged, repair work cannot be carried out and the entire membrane must be replaced.
Permanently weldable, simple to operate, and can be welded with new membranes at any time.
